Is His Love Faithful and True?

When the morning Doves coos

welcomes the light of day,

I am awaken by the flickering light—

filtering through the trees,

and splashing daylight my way.

I am told love comes to those who wait,

But patience is not my virtue, nor is it my mate.

So many times I stood watching the waves as they slowly

wet the beach sand,

It reminds me time is ticking away, and where is

my man.

Was this a real business convention?

Or has another woman captured his attention.

Yesterday, he kissed me good-bye at the door,

He left so fast—I wanted more.

He did not call last night as he promised to the skies,

There will be no compromise.

Is he a liar—that is easily surmised?

It is not I that will be surprised.

The doorbell chimes----I walk slowly to answer the door,

And just delivered are flowers galore.

Flowers are beautiful indeed,

But this man had better take heed.

I never trust a man, who lied once to me,

Never a fool will I be.

No excuses will I conceive,

When he arrives, he will just have to leave.

Does he love me? I would say no,

This liar will have to go.

Never think a woman who is blond is dumb,

Or you may see a war dance and never hear the drum.

He is no man of mine,

I will give him no time,

He is not worth a dime.
